Andean Music Course

Our main purpose is to combine " music and vacations " in an Andean context. We want to play music in the middle of an inspiring landscape, surrounded by Incan cities with impressive panoramic views.
You probably already have enough information about the Andes and might have already often heard about Andean music. But have you ever imagined playing this music in the Andes?
The Andean folklore is a fusion of indigenous roots and Creole influences, often mixed with afro elements. The present generation shows this constant cross-cultural process, blending Andean music with jazz, funk, rock, pop, etc.
In our workshops, we´ll interpret traditional musical pieces from different regions. Therefore, a collection of Andean instruments is at your disposal.

Are you also interested in exploring the Ethno-Andean music?

The Andean indigenous life expresses itself with music, revealing the native people´s lives through religious, magical and mythical beliefs, as well as their relationship with nature and totems. Let us bring you to this different world that evokes origins and archaic ways of life. Live their traditions handed down from past generations and enjoy playing music in a collective and ancestral place.

Andean music vacations - Who is it for? Our seminars are aimed at all those who are interested in learning about the Andean culture in contrast with other approaches. As for the indigenous music, it is part of the people´s cosmovision and their religion and rituals are linked with their music. Therefore, we offer workshops for one day, three days or up to a week or more.
Do I need musical experience? Musical experience is welcome, but it is not necessary. Having basic knowledge in reading music is advantageous, but not essential. We also have methods that are not based on the pentagram system.

Play music and record a video-clip in the Incan citadel of Huchuyqosqo

Choose the musical theme and the instrument that interest you most, so that you might live the unforgettable experience of playing music and recording a video clip in the Incan city of Huchuyqosqo, erected by the eighth Inca; Wiraqocha Yupanqui Inca. There, you will have a wonderful panoramic view of the Sacred Valley and its surrounding snow-covered mountains.

Do you want to add vibrant colours and a strong ethno-groove to your video clip? Original costumes and typical dresses are available as part of the offer.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a private concert offered by one of Cusco´s famous soloists. Next, we will invite you to participate in a jam-session.

1st DAY:

	8.30	We´ll pick you up at your hotel (cusco) with a private transportation

2nd DAY:

		Breakfast in the hotel
	8.00	Look at original costumes and typical dresses
	9.00	Departure to Huchuyqosqo
	10.00	Exploration of the Incan city and filming
	12.00	Picnic
	13.00	Music session and filming
	16.00	A short ride to Pisaq (20 minutes)
	18.00	Dinner in Pisaq

3rd DAY:

		Breakfast in the Hotel
	10.00	Recording of the musical piece
	11.00	Editing, assembly and synchronization of the video clip; drinks and coffees as you like.
	12:30	Lunch
	13:30	Workshop
	15.00	Premier of the video clip with Andean refreshments and appetizers
	17:00	End – Return to cusco or any other equivalent destination, wiht a private transportation

INCLUDES: Private transportation from your hotel (in cusco) and back, 2 nights stay in Calca (private bath, hot water, TV), workshops, didactic and audio-visual materials, availability of Andean instruments and recording equipment, private concert, jam sessions, private transportation between Calca and Huchuyqosqo, entrance fee, rent of costume and typical dress, 2 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 2 dinners, coffee breaks, beverages offered by the casa cultural, Andean snacks and transportation within Calca.
DOES NOT INCLUDE: Extra beverages and beverages during dinner.

RECOMMENDATIONS: Clothing adequate for both warm and cold temperatures (Layers of clothing would seem most functional).
Sun blocking lotion, hat and optionaly binoculars.
