Itinerary:

SacsayhauamanDay 1: Arrival in Cusco

Reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel, to rest and get acclimatized (Altitude of 8,500 feet above sea level.In the afternoon, we will visit the Qoricancha (The Incas´ Temple of the Sun) and the impressive ceremonial complex of Saqsaywaman which is an enigmatic megalithic site. It is estimated that between 20,000 and 40,000 men were allegedly involved in its construction for a period of approximately 70 years. For this Herculean work, the Incas used granite stones that weigh up to 60 tons. Then, we will appreciate a visit of the ancient city of Cusco. (L)

 

Taller de Música AndinaDay 2: Cusco - Sacred Valley, music workshop, Calca

In the morning, we will move on to the Apulaya - Center for Andean Culture, in the Sacred Valley, where we will begin the Andean music workshop.
In the afternoon, we will continue the Andean music workshop, to then appreciate several Peruvian video clips that can provide us with more ideas and inspiration. Our soloist guest will offer us a private Andean music concert followed by a delicious dinner. Finally, our day will end with an entertaining ethno-jam session. (B, L, D)

Day 3: Video clip in Huchuyqosqo

Our program begins with a visit to a shop that rents typical garments and costumes. Then, we will head towards the Incan town of Huchuyqosqo (Little Cusco), where we will have the unforgettable experience of playing music on the site with an impressive view of the Sacred Valley and its snow-capped mountains. The climax of our agenda is the achievement of a video clip of Andean music in this archaeological complex. In the late afternoon and after a short 20-minute ride, we will arrive in the village of Pisaq to enjoy our dinner.

Antropología CalcaDay 4: Recording of the musical piece and anthropological workshop in Calca

Morning: Edition and synchronization of the video-clip and artistic guidelines on filming.
In the afternoon: Anthropological workshop on the indigenous community to be visited and choice of topic you want to document.
The anthropological workshop is combined with Andean philosophy Hamutay that makes it easier to perceive and understand the Andean cosmovision and thought. (B, L, D)

 

 

Comunidad IndígenaDay 5: Mini documentary film in the indigenous community

Visit to an indigenous community, assessing the impressive landscape, the natives´ interactions with foreign people, as well as the observation of  their varied daily activities, visit to community´s Sacred Huaca (Huaca: Sacred place for worshiping and rituals, as they were practiced by the pre-Incans ). Shooting of the footage during the visit.
After dinner, enjoy an evening with the film “Inkari” (the myth about the Incas´ origins), accompanied by our delicious and sweet “ponches” (hot sweet beverages). (B, L, D)

Day 6: Edition of mini documentary film and painting workshop in Calca

Morning: Editing and synchronization of the mini documentary film.
In the afternoon: Painting workshop, as we will paint landscapes and their surrounding flora, using watercolour techniques.
 At night, we will invite you to an evening on the pre-Incan Mochica culture and art, accompanied by documentary sequences. (B, L, D)

Pintura en YanacochaDay 7: Painting in the Yanacocha Natural Reserve

Early in the morning, we will start from Huayocari, beginning our two hours walk to get to the Yanacocha Natural Reserve. There, we will submerge into the beauty of this unspoiled Andean paradise. Through meditation and concentration, we will assimilate the contemplative atmosphere of the landscape. Then, we will draw sketches which will help refresh our inspiration during the workshop on the following day. Today, our agenda is combined with Andean philosophy hamutay. Dinner in Urubamba. Day 8: Painting Workshop - Calca

We will now paint what was internalized and assimilated in Yanacocha, with watercolours, on the basis of our sketches.
Beginning at 5:00 p.m., we will inaugurate all our works and films with an Andean appetizer.
After enjoying a delicious barbecue, we will follow on with an ethno-jam session, “ponches” and sweets… Open end. (B, L, D)

OllantaytamboDay 9: Tour to Pisaq, Ollantaytambo- Cusco

In the morning, we will go to the archaeological site of Pisaq and the handicraft market. Then, we will visit Ollantaytambo; an important military and religious center in Incan times. There, we will appreciate granite constructions built with incredible perfection, monoliths that rise up to four meters in height and so on. (Lunch in Urubamba)
After lunch, we will take you back to Cusco, to enjoy a free afternoon. (B)

Day 10: Cusco - depart

Transfer from your hotel to the airport or bus terminal, with boarding support and assistance. (B)

  1. Reception and assistance at the airport in Cusco.
  2. Transfers to / from Cusco´s airport with a private mobility.
  3. Hotel in Calca and Cusco
  4. Meals as indicated in the itinerary (B=breakfast, L=lunch, D=dinner).
  5. Workshops, teachings, audiovisual materials, use of andean instruments, as well as recording and editing equipment.
  6. Appetizers listed on the itinerary.

  8. Tourist Pass which includes entrance fees to archaeological sites in Cusco and the Sacred Valley.
